I Got a Home in a-dat Rock (1926)

Soprano Dr. Marti Newland sings Harry T. Burleigh's concert spiritual "I Got a Home in a-dat Rock," accompanied by Kamel Boutros. This spiritual expresses warning about the consequences of economic class disparity alongside Christian declamation for eternal life. 


Newland and Boutros performed as a part of the Harry T. Burleigh Society tribute to Burleigh's Annual Service of Negro Spirituals on Friday, March 31, 2017 at St. George's Church in New York City.
